I built my first robot before I could drive. Not a kit — a real one, at UCLA, with circuits I soldered and code I wrote myself. Something worked that probably shouldn't have. I've been chasing that feeling ever since.
I grew up on Sci-Fi and Fantasy — the Sword of Truth, the Recluce and Imager series, Reacher. Stories about people who change the world by force of will and craft. I believed them. Still do.
When the worlds I was given weren't enough, I built my own. I modded Neverwinter Nights back when shipping a mod meant something. That instinct never left: if the tool doesn't exist, build it. If the site doesn't fit, redesign it from the foundation up.
I build for nonprofits running on volunteer hours. I build commerce platforms for collectors who care about every detail. I build tools that probably don't need to exist — and then discover someone needed them badly.
I've shipped things from boardrooms in London, cafés in Tokyo, apartments in Santiago. I've crossed through Britain, Scotland, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark, Canada, Chile, and Japan more times than I can count. Every port leaves something behind.
Japan keeps pulling me back. There's a precision there — in craft, in design, in the way things are made — that I find impossible to ignore. You'll see that influence in the work.
The world is forged by those with the will to change it. I'm still working on mine.
